Exceedme is a play-to-earn blockchain-based platform that allows gamers at all skill levels to monetize their skills. The platform seeks to develop a skill-based blockchain economy that enables developers and organizers to create competitive game ecosystems for every gamer. According to the forum’s whitepaper, the platform’s goal is to make the transfer of in-game items possible between game universes across various blockchains.
Notably, generating profits by developing or playing video games is difficult. Almost all the earnings go to a few ProTournament winners and streamers, and to become a pro, a lot of skill and time is needed. Further, there is huge competition and high entry barriers. There is also the issue of siloed game assets where in-game virtual assets purchased or earned cannot be monetized or transferred. Besides this, predatory publishers, event organizers, and streaming services tend to profit the most.
The platform enables all gamers to monetize their skills. Gamers stake the amount, and the fund collected goes to the winner. Gamers earn through their bets; they get exclusive NFT prizes for winning tournaments and league events and also earn tokens for their engagement. Thus, Exceedme enables players to bridge monetization in different games with the platform token and NFTs.
XED is the native token of the platform that gives players access to tournaments, leagues, lower fees, high stakes, and DeFi exclusive opportunities. Moreover, participants can vote on new features, new games, and reward distribution by staking the XED tokens.
The platform was launched in January 2021. Nuno Fernandes and Francisco Varela are the co-founders of the platform. Nuno has an academic background in economics and has formerly worked as a manager in PwC and KPMG. He is also a strategy advisor of Utrust, a blockchain organization. Francisco is a social entrepreneur and has five successful ventures. The other prominent members in the team include Guilherme Almeida, Rui Teixeira, Nuno Correia, and others.
