FAQ
Flashcoin is a blockchain-based platform designed to handle large-scale commerce services and execute transactions actively. Flashcoin aims to be able to perform transactions quickly by being easily integrated into other platforms. According to the whitepaper, Flashcoin uses a delegate-based model to reach consensus and provide security to users.
Flashcoin is a decentralized remittance platform that attempts to reduce transaction fees while processing high volumes. The platform also looks to address the high energy-consumption issue faced by Altcoins. Flashcoin uses the FLASH Consensus (FC) through which delegates are elected. These delegates identify users who are allowed to mine new blocks onto the network. By adapting FC, the Flashcoin platform relies less on proof-of-work (PoW) and proof-of-stake (PoS) mechanisms.
FLASH is the native token used by the Flashcoin platform. The token is used to cast votes on Flashcoin-related decisions. Users can also stake their tokens in order to participate in elections to become delegates. Based on various parameters, only delegates can become miners who can add blocks onto the network during a specific time period. Users are required to stake at least 1 million FLASH tokens to run for a delegate position.
The Flashcoin network continuously relays data and statistics from the blockchain to the community. This helps the network to be synced and thus helps users make informed decisions. This process also allows for a scenario where the activity of the delegates and miners can be viewed by the blockchain network. This, in turn, provides support in the growth and expansion of the Flashcoin network itself.
The Flashcoin community is run by both elected delegates as well as volunteers. The community is advised by James Jr. and Codeislaw. Anders and Matt are two such community volunteers.
