MX TOKEN (MX) is the native cryptocurrency token of the MEXC ecosystem, launched in 2019. It plays a central role within the platform by offering voting rights on business decisions, team elections, and project listings. MX TOKEN holders can participate in exclusive platform activities and benefit from priority access to certain features. The token follows a deflationary model, where part of the platform's trading fees are used to buy back and burn MX tokens, reducing the overall supply. MX TOKEN is built on the Ethereum blockchain as an ERC-20 token.
MX TOKEN functions within the MEXC ecosystem, offering benefits such as access to spot, margin, and futures trading on the platform. Holders can participate in governance activities, including voting on business proposals, team elections, and project listings. The token can also be used for trading fee coverage and participation in MX DeFi mining programs. Additionally, MX TOKEN integrates with various DeFi tools and staking services available on the platform, providing users with opportunities to engage with the ecosystem beyond traditional trading.
MX TOKEN is designed to fuel the growth and development of the MEXC ecosystem. It is used across core products such as Launchpad, where users can support early-stage projects; Kickstarter, where holders vote with MX to initiate new projects; MX-DeFi, a staking program that rewards participants; and M-Day, which offers users the chance to acquire newly issued digital tokens via lottery. These use cases encourage community engagement and offer governance participation, enhancing the overall ecosystem utility of MX TOKEN.
MX TOKEN was introduced in 2019 by a centralized exchange established in April 2018 and registered in Seychelles. The platform was co-founded by Sheen Xin Hu, Aaron Wagener, and Piotr Brzezinski, with Sheen Xin Hu also founding the MXC Foundation. In 2021, the exchange rebranded to MEXC Global and later to MEXC Official under the leadership of John Chen, a Singaporean businessman who became CEO.
