Pawthereum (PAWTH) is a decentralized, community-driven cryptocurrency project that aims at rewarding animal shelters and advocates for the well-being of animals in need. Pawthereum is a project with animal welfare at its core and seeks to be a digital advocate for animals in need. Pawthereum's vision is not limited only to providing aid to shelters but also teaching animal-based charities the benefits of decentralized finance and digital asset ownership.
As per the whitepaper, smaller animal shelters struggle financially, often overlooked and overshadowed by larger charitable organizations. Pawthereum aims to address this issue and seeks to utilize blockchain technology's benefits to acquire funding, skip the mediators, and donate instantly to animal shelters worldwide.
To provide aid to animal shelters, Pawthereum introduced the PAWTH token, which gets automated redistribution due to the platform's decentralized smart contract. The PAWTH token is on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC). BSC is a blockchain network built for running smart contract-based applications. Further, a 2% fee on every PAWTH transaction gets automatically split between the charity wallet and holders.
There are two aspects through which Pawthereum aims at assisting animals—charity and community reflections.
Pawthereum is a rebranded token and was previously known as Grumpy. The token was created in early February 2021 to aid cats in shelters in honor of the late Tardar Sauce (the Grumpy Cat meme). Team Pawthereum includes Nawzad Amiri (CEO and founder), Raasmus Scheuer (chief charity officer), Jami Renlund (web designer), Konrad Langhammer (marketing manager), Antony Gutierrez (community influencer), Kamal Kamal (software engineer), and more.
