The staking wallet (currently desktop only) must be running, connected to the internet, fully synced with the blockchain, and unlocked to activate staking. The PRCY master node system is modeled after the PIVX master node system. This has many benefits, including preventing 51% of attacks unless the proof-of-stake and master node layers are compromised at the same time.
