On the other hand, the token serves as pass-through for their governance when a pool accumulates other tokens like $COMP, $BAL, etc. Apart from these, users can also utilize the token for fee discounts from the Rari protocol. 

Furthermore, RGT is burned for every transaction generated by the protocol. Burning implies sending the tokens to an unusable wallet address to remove them from circulation. This process leads to a total decrease in the supply of RGT tokens as the protocol succeeds.

Rari Capital was launched in May 2020 in the USA by David Lucid, Jack Lipstone, and Jai Bhavnani. Having worked for MyCrypto, Scoot, Bain, and many others, the Rari team comes from a security-related background. On October 22, 2020, the group launched v2.0 of the Rari protocol, the token, and the three liquidity pools.

To start earning the RGT, users have to deposit into one of their liquidity mining pools depending upon their risk appetite. Liquidity mining is a decentralized finance method in which users contribute a portion of their crypto assets to various liquidity pools and are rewarded with tokens and fees in exchange.

The three pools are the stable pool ($RSPT), yield pool ($RYPT), and ETH pool ($REPT). The stable pool interacts with exclusive audited contracts in a safer way. On the other hand, the yield pool has the highest returns irrespective of leveraged or unaudited contracts. Lastly, the ETH pool delivers safe and stable returns with the ETH price basis.

The total supply of RGT tokens is capped at 12,498,173.
