Virtue Poker gives players complete control over their assets by leveraging Ethereum smart contracts to autonomously distribute prizes based on game outcomes. All players seated at a table participate in card shuffling using a peer-to-peer, encrypted shuffling protocol called Mental Poker and achieve consensus at the end of each hand using a Byzantine Fault Tolerant consensus process.
The native token of the platform is "Virtual Player Points," and the abbreviation of the token is "VPP." VPP has three main functions. VPP is a virtual cryptocurrency that can be utilized as an in-game token. Second, the tokens can be pledged in the Justice Registry, a smart contract that allows users to stake tokens and authenticate hands on the blockchain in return for fees. And, lastly, they can also be used to enter exclusive competitions.
Ryan Gittleson and Jim Berry are the cofounders of Virtue Poker. Virtue Poker was launched in May 2015. The whitepaper of Virtue Poker was published in April 2018.
