Coinbase unlocks millions of assets with DEX trading

Millions of assets are launching every day onchain, and now you can trade them all directly from the Coinbase app. With our decentralized exchange (DEX) trading integration, new assets become available to trade within moments of creation. Coinbase is now unlocking a new era of access, going from just 300 assets yesterday to millions before long, all tradable through the simple and familiar interface you already know. DEX trading is opening the door to a new world of assets

DEX trading is now rolling out to select users in the U.S., excluding New York State. At launch, users will be able to discover and trade a growing list of Base-native tokens, including assets from leading projects like Virtuals AI Agents, Reserve Protocol DTFs, SoSo Value Indices, Auki Labs and Super Champs, all within the Coinbase app.

To ensure a reliable trading experience, we will add support for new DEX assets in batches. Over the coming weeks, we will gradually expand our offerings with the goal of supporting the full range of Base assets. We encourage users to check for new assets on the Coinbase app as we continue to index more every day. 

DEX trading on Coinbase offers several unique benefits for our customers:

• Simplified and seamless trading: DEX trading on Coinbase provides a simple yet powerful gateway to onchain markets by abstracting away the complexities of navigating decentralized protocols. We’re making every trade as simple as possible by providing an integrated self-custody wallet to make DEX trades and sponsoring all network fees so you can enjoy trading within the trusted interface you know. You can fund trades seamlessly with your Coinbase balance or USDC, track performance, and manage your portfolio — all within one unified interface.

• Powered by DeFi: You can now trade on popular DEXes like Aerodrome and Uniswap  in just a few clicks, all without leaving the Coinbase app. When you submit a trade, DEX aggregators automatically scan the available liquidity across top DEXs to find the best price.

• Transparent and informed trading: To help you trade on DEXs with more confidence, Coinbase surfaces key market data and risk insights pulled directly from onchain data. In addition, DEX assets that are identified by a trusted third party vendor as confirmed malicious or fraudulent assets will not be available to buy. While Coinbase provides these tools, we do not hold or review the assets available on DEXs.

• More networks, more assets, and more markets: We’re just getting started. Soon, we plan to expand DEX support to include additional networks, starting with Solana. At the same time, we're working to bring DEX trading to more countries and expand access for our global community.

Reach millions of traders at day 1

Every day, more tokens are launched on Base than anywhere else. Coinbase isn’t just building for traders to access them – we’re also empowering the builders creating them. Issuers who launch their tokens on Base that are not supported on our centralized exchange will now be able to reach millions of new traders on DEX, all within an hour after being indexed. This means you do not have to wait for a traditional listing to get access to Coinbase’s distribution. We plan to support additional networks over time and continue uplifting builders across different ecosystems.
