George Osborne

At Coinbase, we are building the infrastructure for the future of finance, and that future requires clear and sensible regulations and standards that reflect an understanding of both the immense potential of this technology and the urgent need to democratize the financial system.

That is why I am delighted to announce that George Osborne, the former Chancellor of the Exchequer of the United Kingdom and a respected global banker, is taking the helm as Chair of the Coinbase Global Advisory Council.

Mr. Osborne's career has placed him at the epicenter of global politics and finance. As a key figure at the G7 and G20, he was the longest-serving UK Chancellor in recent history, and has served as a trusted advisor and banker to the world’s leading companies and governments. He has successfully led and navigated transformational change in government and in the business sector. In his new position, he will help Coinbase in ushering in the transformation of the global financial system.

We welcome George as Chair, and look forward to working with him to bring about an era of greater economic freedom for all.
