FAQ
Nodle (NODL) is a decentralized network that aims to connect reality by linking humans, devices, and data. It strives to create value by running simple "Smart Missions" at the edge, enabling web3 applications to operate on smartphones and devices. The Nodle Network provides low-range wireless access to IoT devices, powered by the Nodle Chain, a parachain that fuels the network. The native crypto-asset of the Nodle Network is the Nodle token, also known as Nodle Cash. The network's initial compensation comes from insurance companies that utilize a crowd of smartphone users to locate Bluetooth connected vehicles. Nodle aims to expand its use of smart missions to secure AI deployed in mission-critical enterprise applications.
Nodle operates by turning smartphones into IoT hotspots or "edge nodes" in the network. The Nodle SDK, embedded in an app, connects to surrounding Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)-enabled smart devices such as parcels, city furniture, sensors, and utility infrastructures. When communication with these smart devices is enabled, edge nodes receive NODL from the device owner. The Nodle Network's architecture and system design leverage what is called "The Smartphone Infrastructure", utilizing smartphones as nodes and base stations for the network. The team at Nodle has developed an innovative way to grow the network through "proof of connectivity", where mobile application developers and consumers compete and participate in the network by enabling their smartphones to provide resources such as wireless radio and bandwidth, and in exchange for their contribution, receive Nodle Cash.
